I like this photo...even if I'm a little bitter about the exposure/detail on the skateboarder.

One of those everyday opportunistic sorts of shots... Standing at the bus stop & I was charmed by an oily puddle.

Do you think that the people who work in architecturally interesting buildings, museums, the Sistine Chapel…lose track of the beauty? I know that the familiar becomes everyday (for me at least…more than I like). Think about your commute to work. I’ll bet there are stunning buildings, or natural beauty, & I suspect that much of it escapes us as we combat traffic or wait for the bus.

I shot this one in front of my apartment. The sky is what makes the picture for me. I especially like the diagonal slash of brightness that seems to pull you down towards the darkness of the telephone pole.

This thoughtful looking gentleman was photographed at Bauhaus on Pine & Melrose (a lovely little coffee space with WiFi…it’s where I’m posting this).

Shot this one at the Market with the balloon guy & a “customer”.

Getting Started

So I've been muttering about this for too long. I wanted to find a simple way to get some of my pictures out onto the web for friends (& any other fine folks) to take a look. It seemed like it was time to stop talking about what I was going to do & just up & take a jump. We'll just have to see how this goes.

I just recently purchased a digital camera, & I've been taking piles of pictures. My primary interest is street shots, but I basically make a grab at anything that I think might look good in a frame. This first is one of several attempts at self portrait that plays with reflections. I’ve met with varied degrees of success. This is one of my favorites because of the multilevel reflection of the window & mirror.
